Making snowballs in the Montana mountans last July (you'd think we'd get enough thrills with all the snow in MI, but apparently not!)
The "kids"...
The little lights in our lives:
Ally
Our veteran, she's been with me since 1998. She's the wuss of the house but we still love her.
Tuff Guy
She (yes, she) is a little character! In her mind, she's a bengal tiger, even though she's just a little squirt. We stole her from the neighbors after they kept being mean to her. She's definitely the personality of the house.
Louie
One of our two Maine Coons rescued from the Humane Society and our only boy. He runs the house (when he's awake). It's hard work being the boss.
Patty
The classic torti who was rescued from the Humane Society as an 8 week old kitten by Mike's brother. She's very lovey and playful.
Shadow
She follows Mike everywhere, so we renamed her Shadow. Mike's brother originally got her from some neighbors after she was born under their porch.
Keke
I rescued Keke from the Humane Society this past November. She is 11 and was turned in by her original owners who said they were moving, oh, and they were allergic to her all of a sudden. I knew they wouldn't hold her long at the shelter so I put my name on her in case they tried to put her down, which is exactly what almost happened. She was on her way to "the room" when they realized my hold and called me. I went and picked her up that day and that was my last day there after 8 years. Keke is an absolute doll and we can't imagine our home without her now.
"E"
E showed up last year as a stray and gradually moved into our garage, then into the house just recently. She's goofy and afraid of all the cats, although she outweighs them all. She's pretty much a fixture on our bed.
Ludwig
joined us February 2009 -- approx 2 yrs old -- was dumped off near my parents' house with his brother Leo. He and Louie are wrestling buddies.
Leo
also joined in February 2009 -- approx 2 yrs old -- dumped with his brother Ludwig. He came very scraggily, full of matts and attitude. He has transformed into a very handsome, lovey lap boy!
